A bit about me, and what I’m spending time on.
I’m a software engineer. I’m also interested in a lot of things that don’t fit neatly into that description.
I like building things, learning how they work, and asking questions that turn into projects. Software is a big part of that, but so are hardware, markets, and the way we learn.
OnePercentBetter is my corner of the internet. Some writing here will be technical and detailed. Some will be about something I tried, a place I went, or an idea I’m still working through.
I want room for all of it. I don’t want to wait until I’ve become an expert in something before I can write about learning it.
What I’m interested in
- Software & AI
- Building useful things, understanding the systems underneath them, and figuring out where AI actually helps.
- Hardware & robotics
- Learning how code connects to the physical world, from small electronics projects to machines that can sense and move.
- Markets & research
- Testing ideas, looking for patterns, and checking whether an explanation holds up when I put numbers behind it.
- Life outside the screen
- Sports, hiking, trying new activities, and getting out to explore. There’s more I want to learn than I can fit behind a desk.
Why keep a blog?
I like being able to look back at what I thought, what I tried, and what changed. Writing gives me a reason to work through an idea instead of leaving it half-formed.
That’s what I’d like this site to become: a record of the things I spend time on, in my own words.
